I received the Facet 40171 fuel pump that I ordered, so I made a mounting plate for it today. The 40171 has the check valve and is supposed to prevent the flow when not running. I used 1/8″ 6061 to make the mounting plate which is a bit thicker than it really needs to be, but that’s what I happen to have around.
Here is the bracket finished and primed:
I drilled out 6 rivets and will mount the plate using 6 AN3 bolts and the pump will mount to the plate using 2 AN4 bolts. I arranged the pump on the plate so you have access to the pump bolts through the rear spar lightening holes. I figured this will help in the future if it ever needs to be replaced.
I was surprised by how much the pump weighs. I am not sure what I was expecting, but it I put it on the scale and it comes in at 1 lb. 3 oz.
