tailwheel training

I think I was inspired by my recent trip to Sun n Fun to go ahead and get my tailwheel endorsement now.  There is a small window in Florida between winter and hot as hell, that time is now.  After searching around online I came across Barnstorm Aviation, after one flight I know I made the right decision.  First off, I am flying a super Decathlon, second….I’ve got a great instructor!  After 1.2 hours in the Super D, I am in love.  What a plane.  It is such a treat to fly a plane with good performance and good roll rates after my normal diet of cessnas and pipers.

I don’t think I realized how different tailwheel flying really is.  I now know why its “stick and rudder”, you’ve got to be on the ball.  I know I’ll be a better pilot when I’m done.
